What is yoga? How do we decide which style of yoga to choose? How does yoga benefit the body and mind, and how can we reap those benefits in our daily lives?
This workshop will include a general introduction to the benefits of yoga, including a brief overview of yogic philosophy and the instructor’s personal experiences. The presentation will emphasize simple breathing exercises and guidelines for better posture that can be incorporated into everyday life. A brief Q&A will follow.
Open to anyone with an interest in yoga, including those with no experience practicing yoga to those with an already established yoga practice.
Judy Seto has been teaching Ashtanga yoga in Chengdu since January 2008. She is certified by Yoga Thailand and The Yoga Sanctuary in Toronto and has been practicing yoga for more than 10 years.

Lucky for us Kim will continue with the self practice for the next few weeks. The schedule remains the same for the next two weeks, until the 5th of March:

After the 5th of March, she will continue to open the studio for the Monday and Friday morning sessions only.

Hope everyone has been staying warm these first few weeks of the new year. We wanted to send a reminder about the schedule change coming up this week. Classes on Monday through Wednesday will be held as usual this week, but Friday’s class is cancelled. Starting next week, we will move to our self-practice schedule (see below). The studio will be open for our students to do self-practice during the times listed. Please contact Kim Dallas if you plan to attend a session. The self-practice schedule will be effective starting February 1 through February 12. Check back for updates later.

Please note that the yoga studio will be closed Friday, December 25th and Friday, January 1st. All other regularly scheduled classes will be held as usual until the end of January, when Judy leaves for Canada and Thailand.

Starting in February, in the interim before Natasha and Maher return to Chengdu, the studio will be open for self-practice at the following times:

Maher and I are now the parents of Rahul and Leila, two beautiful babies who were born in Hong Kong on the 1st of November at the Queen Mary Hosptial. They were nine weeks pre-term and are both in neonatal ICU at the hospital. I will be in Hong Kong until mid to end January depending on how things develop, and what after care the babies will need. They are both strong and doing well.
In light of all of this, the studio will be closed for the first few months of the year. We will specify the dates as soon as I have more information on my return to Chengdu. Most likely it will be from mid to end January.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
Please note that the drop-in fee will be 50 RMB starting December 1st.

Please note that the 11:00 am Basics class on November 16th (Monday) will be rescheduled to Thursday, November 19th at 11:00. All other regular classed will resume as usual, and the Monday Basics class will resume on November 23rd. Sorry for the inconvenience. Hope to see you soon!

Starting the 12th of October, the Thursday morning 11am Basics class will be moved to Monday at 11am. For the full schedule go to the Classes page. Please note that the September 29th and 30th classes are still on.
